3rd Annual International LA Wushu Tournament

Please join us for the third annual International Wushu Tournament in Los Angeles on Saturday April 28th, 9am-5pm at the Santa Monica High School, North Gym. This is an international regulation event open to individuals and groups. This year’s tournament welcomes Yu Te, Ma Guoliang, Ye Zhuqian and Zhang Chunyan- four top-ranked Wushu experts from the Zhejiang Sports Academy, an elite national sports training facility producing some of the top athletes in China. more

The Confucius Institute Scholarship Program is provided by Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters. This program is open to international students and Chinese language teachers to further their studies in China.

The Chinese Government Scholarship Program is funded by the Ministry of Education of People’s Republic of China. This program aims to support short and long term study abroad opportunities in China for international students and scholars.

UCLA-Fudan Workshop in Scholarly Translation
Date: June 25 - July 13, 2012
Location: Fudan University

This program is designed to teach the general principles of translation, understood not as a theory, but as a practical way of coping with the choices a translator will make. The workshop is open to students and professionals working in any scholarly discipline with an advanced reading knowledge of Chinese and English. The goal is to teach participants to render scholarly texts in their fields from Chinese into English or English into Chinese. Participants will translate texts of their own choosing relevant to their research interests.

Chinese Teacher Leadership Institute (CTLI)


To ensure that K-12 Mandarin language and culture programs prosper and students gain the needed proficiency to use the language in real world situations, California needs well-qualified language teachers in its classrooms. The UCLA Chinese Teacher Leadership Institute (CTLI) seeks to provide Mandarin teachers with the necessary tools to become master teachers of language and culture, and the skills to serve as leaders in Mandarin teaching in the K-12 community.
